Brian Smith
because you are trying to install the 32bit version on a 64bit machine...is that the case?
Spooner04
If you're in vista you probably need to run the installer as an administrator. Right click on the icon and it should give you the option in the fly out menu. In general I would recommend turning of the User account control, it seems to be more of a pain than anything. arkinel
My Vista is 32bit, my 3ds Max Design 2009 is 32bit as well and i'm installing the Vray1.5 SP2 X86 plugins for 3dsMax 2009. and yes! it installed properly when i run as an administrator. but when I fire-up the MAX it gives me tons of error with .dlls and .dlts , i don't know if this version of vray is compatible with Max Design 2009 or its only for Max2009. appreciate your help guys! tnx... Spooner04
Is the installer directed to the correct file path. If it is installing and you are getting these errors it seems to me like the installer is not putting the files in the right place or you don't have rights to access the files. Your plugin.ini seems correct.
Phabz
Have you tried posting in the vray forum or contacting chaosgroup? I am sure Vlado will take care of this problem for you.

If it is installing and you are getting these errors it seems to me like the installer is not putting the files in the right place or you don't have rights to access the files. Your plugin.ini seems correct. I post the screen shot of the installation folders. this is the default one. thus it seems right? tnx mate.
Spooner04
my plugin.ini has the ;=; under [directories] not at the top. other than that I have no idea. Probably should email chaosgroup or see if you can find a walk through for vista 32 bit install. It is the same version of vray for max 2009 and max design 2009. quizzy
so, the first thing when you have a problem you post here in the cgarchitect forums, so either you want to stay out of chaosgroups radar, or they dont give such support which I doubt. Contact chaosgroup is my advice.
Grumpf
Pfffff !!!!!!!!!! always the same kind of answer here... Will use Chaosgroup and other forum instead.... Thank you scherlock Holmes!!!!
junostar
I've been having this problem myself and I have at least resolved the errors from popping up but I still can't get VRAY to run correctly but oh well vray's crazy anway with the dongle shit. All you do is cut those .dlls from the 3dsmax/plugins/vray folder and paste them inside of the 3dsmax root folder or delete them whatever you want.
