jinsley
Havn't posted in a while... This is a project requiring very quick turn around time (tomorrow)... got it yesterday morning and have made some decent progress, I wanted to try using the particle system and a script I found on the net for the trees in this project, I have a 64 bit machine arriving this week and hopefully that will help out alot. The firm has offered to buy a tree package though, so that will probably save me time in the long run... where is my money best spent? Does anyone have any experience with the evermotion products? 3ds max, mental ray, photoshop Thx. -JI
Spooner04
I would recommend staying away from evermotion. They are very high poly in general and can be problematic, especially if used heavily. If you are using a render engine that can proxy then they are viable, but I think you could probably find something more suitable on turbosquid. We use xfrog by a company called greenworks. I don't think they've updated their max plugin since max 9. We use the standalone and export out to max and it works pretty good. *edit* if this is a still image than I would get whatever you can from the firm but just photoshop some 2d billboard trees into the image. jinsley
A little more progress on the south side... moving onto the north now to finish the modelling and landscaping and context...I don't think finishing by end of today is realistic. I have also narrowed my tree choices to onyx and xfrog... seems to me that generally the onyx ones look better, or that might be based on the user.
