shaneis
Here's an interesting site to read before you part with your money for the CS4 "upgrade". http://dearadobe.com/index.php A couple of interesting quotes: "Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 Design Standard *US ENGLISH* = $1,190, Adobe Creative Suite 3.3 Design Standard *GERMAN* = $3,190 (2,170euro), please explain why you charge $2000 for translating the manual. thank you." "Please stop hiring lawyers to program your software." "Your updater makes me cry." "My high end computer I bought costs half of my Master Collection CS3 did. LOWER. THE. PRICE." "PDFs are one of the most universally-circulated file formats in the world. Can you PLEASE make sure that the program we have to use to open them isn't unusably bloated and slow?" "Why is your plain-jane reader larger than the entire OpenOffice suite simply to display PDFs?" You get the idea Edited October 11, 2008 by shaneis
SandmanNinja
Very funny! Wonder if Adobe knows about the site, or will take the comments onboard?
Nic H
lols a bit ridiculous, i thought the CS3 install process was LONGWINDED and complicated, guess CS4 only makes it better (longer) :bloated:
shaneis
Very funny! Wonder if Adobe knows about the site, or will take the comments onboard? Only if their profit margin starts to slip - on second thoughts, if that happens we could probably look forward to six-monthly full-price upgrades. What Adobe really needs is a Vista-like experience with CS4, something to show them that there are alternatives. If people started to jump-ship, they'd react. Vote with your wallets! Peter M. Gruhn
There's a couple people at cgtalk.com who are constantly whining about the UK price of software. They assume they know what the problem is (because they think they can rip us off vs. this one's "to translate the manual"). Nobody ever provides any data about shipping costs, import duties, VAT... It's just "the evil big bad corporation is out to rip us off. Look at this one "please explain why you" and they drop in a (quite possibly joking) presumption. Will Adobe ever listen to them? They are the people not worth listening to.

Or better yet, why it's dearer to download CS4 in the UK than it is to buy it boxed? Will Adobe ever listen to them? They are the people not worth listening to. Good God, man! Those "people not worth listening to" are their customers! I'd be interested to see how you felt if the shoe was on the other foot!
Crazy Homeless Guy
What Adobe really needs is a Vista-like experience with CS4, something to show them that there are alternatives. If people started to jump-ship, they'd react. The problem is that the only real alternative to Vista right now is XP. It is not that the other OS's are not fully capable and more reliable, it is the software I need for my day to day working environment is often only made for Windows.
