femmyextra
i rendered this using Vray; the Image i used for the lighting is the environment map. Colour maping: Exponential, dark multiplier = 1.3, bright multiplier = 1 Primary GI engine = irradiance map Secondary GI engine = brute force I used 3dsmax target direct light as the secondary lighing. PROBLEM: Image is blured. it appears like taking a picture while your hands are shaking. Its not SHARP. hw can i make this better??
STRAT
are you talking about the background? if so, use the correct mapping projection/co-ordinates. if it's the picture in general, thats down to over jpeg compression.
Stephen Thomas
I assume you mean that you're using a spherical environment as your background image. The problem here is that the resolution of the map is not high enough, there is no way to fix that. Typically to be useful as a background image a spherical environment map would need to be at least 6k by 3k pixels. Much better to either add your background image in Photoshop afterwards or map an image to a plane in your scene.

STRAT
what do i need to do to make this brighter without blowing out the already 'bright' areas?? you are asking the most basic questions here, for which there are around 1000 basic answers for the same problem. i'd suggest you keep on playing and rendering and practising with your software until you get a better feel for what you're doing.
