contour vector maps

Hi,

 

I am trying out rhinoterrain.com's Digital Terrain Modeling Plugin for Rhino, and it works fine, but it is a little tedious to make the maps painstakingly in Illustrator. So, is there anywhere on internet where I can download some contour vector maps for free? I have the idea that it will be easier to modify than to start from nothing.

 

Or, is there any software that can produce vector maps (bezier curves) from dem files? Or better still, polylines with elevation information?
