I like to draw inspiration from architectural photographers. In addition to books by the likes of Taschen, great architectural photography can be found in the monthly architectural magazines. My favs include detail.de mark theplan a10 and there is even a good free one: http://www.umemagazine.com/

Here is a list of photographers i have been compiling: http://delicious.com/paguthrie/archphotographer

Thank you for your feedback.

I have "Painting with light"(very inspiring book) and read "essential cg lighting techniques".

I am searching for some kind of summarisation of artistic ways of using light in architecture. As I understand many of you don't percieve lighting as a separate thing. there are some books on amazon like http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0980061709/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

and http://www.amazon.com/Architectural-Lighting-M-David-Egan/dp/0070205876/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1224620165&sr=1-1

So I am looking for something specific about means of lighting. It's hard to express what I mean... there are some creative ways of light managment related to an architecture, for example hidden under a piece or architecture lamps but illuminating the premises, or a cool graphical form used as a daylight source.

Jeff Mottle, thank you, I'm not sure it it's what I'm looking for, it looks more about architecture in general.

jackb602, isn't MASTERS OF LIGHT a textbook mainly about different DP's?
