simon b
Can anyone advise on a possible starting point for effective understanding of Global illumination. The books and articles that I've read give either a brief description, or imply vast amounts of mathematical theory. I know it may be simplistic to say, but the results are exactly what is needed to produce images that will convey a designers idea to a public that wants to see the reality of a design rather than a stylised impression conveying ideals. I digress, please help because I wish to understand this town :angesigh: but have lost the map!!!
Brian Cassil
I'm not sure if this book is going to be exactly what you are looking for, but I think it is an excellent book describing the theory and practice of global illumination without too much of the mathematical mumbo-jumbo, and without being program specific. nisus
I don't think that book will teach you well on GI (I've read it!) but I suggest you read the manual and make the tutorials. In viz4 manual there was a 'GI workflow' item, so maybe max has it too... rgds nisus
