Anyone know when this will becoming to Max? ...I believe it is now included for Maya2009, but what about Max. Will we have to wait for the next full release, or will they create a package for subscription customers?

This line from the press release intrigues me the most...

• High Quality, High Performance Global Illumination: Irradiance particle

support and algorithm improvements to enable a higher degree of physically correctness; 'one button click' renderings with select tuning capabilities and automatic adaptivity."

So, I've been doing some searching on this stuff. My info is spotty. Short answer is, I have no idea in Max will get MR 3.7

According to some stuff that I read on CGTalk, it sounds like you can get irradience particles and importons (from 3.7) to work in Max 2009 but I'm not quite sure how and because I'm only on '08 it won't do me much good anyways.

You should read this post...

Lot of interesting stuff there, including lots of ways to unlock features of 3.7 in 3.6. I am still fairly new to MR, but it seems like things they are developing are often included in earlier releases, but they haven't worked everything out yet, so they don't make them public. If you read the thread, it will tell you how to start using some of the new GI functions that 3.7 will bring, while still using version 3.6.
