morder
Hi to all, this is actually my first post here at CgArch. Can anyone explain me the benefits of using this modifier? On what things should i pay atention to, because i have to work on some animation with bunch of people and cars...? Currently i'm using max8 + vray 1.5RC3. Chad Warner
I use it with AXYZ people all the time. It basically loads the animation information to a file, and then translates that back to the mesh, so all you have to have is a editable mesh and the point cache modifier (and the xml files it writes) to have animation...you can get rid of the skeleton, the BIP file, all of that. dean@pikcells
the modifier is great for people. once you have finished animating your character (usually with bones / biped) you apply this modifier. follow the instructions in the help files and its pretty straight forward. without this modifier we found a lot of our scenes would crash out, but as soon as you can delete the biped and mocap data, the scenes never crash out. morder
Well i found good manager for this point cache purpose. Point Cache Manager This tool is for mass-recording and loading pointcache files. It’s still max8 only, maybe if i find the time i will make a max 9 version which should be fairly easy I can not post link so far because i have two post so if somebody need this send me PM.
