Dave Buckley
guys just threw some objects together to learn vray was more a learning exercise for myself focusing on the sun and sky and physical camera settings to try and convey different times of day i don't think it turned out that bad considering i'm new to vray not sure which i prefer though? the darker one has more mood/atmosphere i think rubbish!!!! they have lost loads of quality on here, they look nice and sharp and crisp on my computer
Trevor Tizard
Not a bad start.................. 1) It's quite grainy 2) You have some mapping issues around the brickwork on the pier 3) You appear to be using 3D displacement on the brick wall. The gaps in the pier need you to select "Keep continuity" in the Vray displacement modifier. 4) The texture on the chair looks "Stained". I prefer the second image, but that's just me. Hope this helps.

Trevor Tizard
Why not render a version you like and keep it going.
Dave Buckley
i will, i want to put more detail in it and make it perfect, only problem is i am rubbish at composition. i need a rule of thirds grid in my viewport but not sure where to get one from, and i need to go get some fresh inspiration!!! its getting towards the end of a very busy week
Trevor Tizard
Just make one in photoshop and use it as viewport background.
