That video is TOTALLY funny! I mean -- after all, if they had spent the $180M on actual programmers, innovation, and invention -- I am sure they would be way behind where they are now!!! And they have to now somehow merge all this @#$@#% together. How bad would it be to be the marketing director of any of these units? Sounds like hell!

i have read many posts on this and other forums saying how terrible AD are for buying the market up and not innovating in any way. i don't think that it's a fair comment though. if everyone hates AD so much, why don't they change to a different software? i realise that the dreaded /Autocad/ is the industry standard for construction drawings, but most cad programs can read and edit DWGs and most 3D programs can import them.

Cinema4D, modo, Lightwave (& LWCAD) are 3 such other modelling/rendering/animating apps (and there are many more - some of them FREE and very capable) that can do just about everything that Max can and similarly, there are lots of copycat AutoCAD apps, not to mention programs like ArchiCAD et al, which excel at construction documentation and analysis and can do everything AutoCAD can and more.

so why not take advantage of these other offerings? if AD is behaving this way, it is because the industry has let them become who they are. they are simply taking advantage of their position and they would be fools not to. why should they change if their software sales keep going up, and their upgrades/subscriptions are taken up?

a look at the gallery tells a similar story. ah, this one is made using Max and Vray, and this one, and this one, so is this one... oh, but this one uses Photoshop too (another favourite!)

just my thoughts...

Right, because what could possibly funnier than Hitler and the Third Reich?

Jeff, you normally make a big effort to keep this forum very professional and respectful. I have a healthy sense of humor, and I'm not easily offended, but I think you really dropped the ball on this one.
