gsscott50@hotmail.com
This is my first attempt at a proper night time scene. Not too sure about the lighting at the minute. There are still some mapping issues i need to sort out. Just wondering if you think the lighting is convincing? Cheers.
innerdream
I like the scene, I don't think the lighting works. There is a chart somewhere on the web for RGB settings of different types of lights. I think the colors of your candles and all the other lights need to be adjusted. I also think your "moonlight" could be better, perhaps an hdri?

amer abidi
I think you should light up the pool, as the caustics effect on the inner walls could look wonderfull. furthermore, the spot on the table is too defined..needs to softer, and it seems, as said earlier, that a blue-ish fullmooon effect outside would look nice in comparison to the inner turquoise caustics. ITs OK as is, but not very convincing yet, and has much room for improvement.
Bwana Kahawa
Personally I'd say lose the spotlight on the table - it draws the eye too much and makes me wonder what's so special about the flowerpots? It's also a bit weird having such a specific light without seeing the light source - almost reminds me of stage lighting.
gsscott50@hotmail.com
amer abidi Thanks for the suggestions. I have lit the pool up with about 10 photometric lights, but they do not seem to be having the desired effect. I agree with you though. The caustics on the walls would look sweet. I'm going to have another go at the lighting.... Bwana Kahawa I basically ripped this scene off from a bespoke lighting design companies website. They have a really defined spotlight on a flower pot at the front of the composition. It looks good on the photo. I agree I haven't pulled it off with the render though. back to the drawing board

innerdream
thanks for the comment. Heres an update. crits welcome! Looking better. I would warm the candle lights way up along with all of the lights and get rid of the spot light on the table plants. A little ambient light right there with a very low setting to highlight them would be nice imo.
