manta
Sorry, but its impossible to determine the parameters of your material by looking at a picture, you'll actually need to tell us about the material or post a screen grab of its parameters... manta
Subdiv's are too high...bring them down to 10 or see if you can get away with unchecking "trace reflections"
manta
also your max depth is set to 5x the default value...set it back to 5 to see if there is a noticeable difference...

kbotnen
that render is only 640x480 and it took 1h 11min This statement is meaningless without knowing the hardware you are rendering on But as a testrender its far to long IMO, regardless of your hardware setup. but anyway you can see what i meen in forum WIP, name in reception, Providing the URL to that actual post will help people to find it. Then they can just click that and open up in another window, instead of having to back out of the thread they are reading to find that other post. Like this: WIP thread about reception scene: http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/33144-reception.html Can I ask why you have all your multipliers so high above default settings? My first thought was that you have copied the settings of a tutorial or another example scene. If thats the case I will advice you too do it iterative, and read up on the settings before boosting them Save rendertime AND learn about your favorite render engine. To read about the settings of Vray and alot of example you go here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/ Im not too grumpy? Just trying to give advice that I myself once was given About the metal answer I will comment in the appropiate receiption thread Like to keep things clean, hehe. -K-
