Imagemodeler 2009 Upgrade?

I was considering upgrading my RealViz ImageModeler 4 to the new Autodesk version 2009, but it has a hefty price tag of US$700 here in Norway (we're being ripped off as usual - US price is $500 for the same download).

After looking at the docs it looks like there have been very little change since v4.

About the only change is that it now has support for spherical panorama photos and single-image projects (from Vtour?).

Hopefully they have removed some of all the annoying bugs in the program too, but who knows? Is there a froum somewhere now discussing former Realviz software?

Is this really worth the upgrade price they're charging?

Is it true that Autodesk, as the rumours say, only lets you upgrade one step at a time, so that if I later want to upgrade to 2010 (or whatever) I'll have to pay the full price again (US$1400?)?

Then maybe it's time to upgrade my Photomodeler instead?

Apparently not the hottest software at the moment ;)

Doesn't anyone use ImageModeler here?

How about some info on the Autodesk upgrade policy?

Is it as unfriendly as the Maxon upgrading, where you're punished hard if you don't buy every new upgrade (one of the reasons why I'm no longer a C4D user btw)?

Do you need to upgrade Autodesk software, like Max and Maya, to every new version to avoid falling off the upgrade-ladder?
