Rankiad
Hi guys, this will be my first post. Here is some of the work I've done, as you can see I'm very novice and all I've learned so far is thanks to the web and of course CG. Please be kind on your critiques as I'm still learning and I know there's a lot left. Thanks very much.
james_moon
Good start. I understand you're still a novice but there's a few simple things you can do to make the image more interesting. For example- the cushions all look very similar. You could add some variety with different colours & patterns, plus rotate a few of them. At the moment the stripes all run vertically. I'd probably make them smaller too. - the white wall is pretty bare. You could simply hang a mirror or a framed picture there to make it feel more homely. - the door seems to be made of some sort of metal. I don't know many houses with doors like that, so maybe just make it white, or add a wood texture. - the ceiling texture isn't really helping the room look good. Just look at some real living rooms and see what sort of ceilings they have. - the light coming through the window works quite nicely but I would brighten up the image outside the window. - I like the shiny floor and the coffee table. Just add a fruit bowl or magazines, or a vase of flowers to bring the place to life. Good luck with it.
