Simon Moir
3ds Max London User Group Meeting Next week, Wednesday 5th November The Black Horse Pub in Central London 6 Rathbone Place, London W1T 1HL 020 7307 9911 18:30 Doors Open 19:00 Intro and Announcements. Following times approx. 19:15 3ds London regular Joe Robson is presenting this evening. If you know who Joe is, you already know you want to come. If you don't know who Joe is, here's why you should come: he's an architectural illustrator who trained originally as an architect and traditional illustrator before beginning a career in 3D visualisation at CASA, building the virtual model of Bath. At the time of its completion in 1995, this was the world's largest urban database. Since then he has worked with some of the world's most respected architects, including Herzog & de Meuron, Renzo Piano, Richard Rogers, Fosters, and Grimshaw, and numerous notable Stirling Prize nominees. A number of his personal projects have been exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition over the last decade. An elected council member of the Society of Architectural Illustration, he also lectures at the London School of Economics and Bath University at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, as well as internationally. Currently he runs his own practice, AVR London, specialising in architectural illustration, verification and research. In other words, Joe is visualisation royalty, and when he reads this last sentence I'll owe him a drink. If you have a presentation or project you'd like to show next week (or next year) let me know. You can't forget the date (remember remember) and I've made sure the room isn't double booked... Everyone welcome, see you there, Simon
