dpcaltdcah
I imported a model in .fbx that someone else made in Revit and now i'm cleaning it up, adding to it and applying vray materials to render. my problem? at first my uvw maps were totally fine. now all of a sudden I'll apply a uvw to an object and make it say 5'x5'x5' and the gizmo representing that size will be huge. like the size of the building huge. and the scale of the material will be correspondingly enormous. my system units are fine, and they are the same as they were in Revit--all feet and inches. and the building wasn't scaled or anything. what's weirder is that if I 'acquire' a uvw map from an object I mapped before this started happening, it'll be fine and 5'x5'x5' really will be the right size. I am at a loss...
Tommy L
You could try switching to real-world units and see if this fixes the problem. Try it with a couple of objects first, however, if it works it will mean re-scaling all of your materials.
dpcaltdcah
ok, I'll try that. after I posted, the file started freaking out and some of the meshes had vertices randomly move like way out in space and you couldn't select and move them anymore. I closed max and restarted and it was all fine again. we've pretty much switched over from dwg to fbx which in some ways is better but still has ALOT of problems...
