network install problem

not sure if anyone will know the answer to this but i have installed max using a network deployment obviously across a network from a server, however when max is launched it always looks for the server and also in the license information inside max, the serial reads 000-00000000 although it is a permanent license and is definately not a trial.

 

Does anybody know if there is an .ini file or something similiar that holds the information for the license server and serial number just so that i can check to see if that information is missing
