AFK_Matrix
Hi, I am just wondering if there is a way to input exact figures for moving or rotating things etc? In 3DS Max you can right click the move tool and get a window where you can enter exact figures, is there something similar in Maya?
shaneis
Quick and easy way is to enter the value in the appropriate channel on the right-hand-side of your screen. You can enter values to around 10-16 decimal places (I can't remember exactly), but Maya will only display the value to 3 decimal places... I think that's just to keep the UI looking clean, but rest assured the precise values you enter will be there. There's a few ways you can play with precise transforms using the UI - check back here tomorrow and I'll post a PDF with all those options for your reference. NB: You can also use MEL to perform all these functions.

HamburgerTrain
You can also press ctrl + t and enter in on screen your rotation, transform or scale numbers. Look at Maya help for details, under Universal Manipulator. You can change the setting so it rotates between bounding box centre or pivot point as well.
