marked001
Working on a simple scene for my business xmas card.. figured it'd be fun to build something out of legos... here are my first two models for the scene... definitley need to work on the materials a bit though.. (lighting too) any help is greatly appreciated..
innerdream
Cool idea. I think I would stick to standard Lego colors if there is such a thing.
RobNJ73
Reminds me of a procedural lego material I saw at vray-materials.de... http://www.vray-materials.de/all_materials.php?mat=1745 Not sure if VRay is your engine, though...

marked001
added my name in place of lego's..in the lego font...
BillyElNino
I hate to do it to you but I think your proportions are off... If you're going to go into that much detail here's a good image to base it on. I don't know what stage the render settings are at but there's quite a bit of noise on the lego plastic material and you need to work on your bevelled edges and material to get the reflection and highlights correct. marked001
thanks billy...maybe its the camera distorting it, because based on all of the reference i have, all dimensions are accurate. I definitely need to work on the plastic materal and colors some more, and also let these cook a bit longer to lose the noise...these were quick.. also need some bevelling on the 'studs'.. marked001
here is the latest iteration...for comment..thanks!
Chad Warner
Looks pretty sweet to me. I would agree that the studs, at least on the main logo block, need some bevelling.
sideshow tpc
looks a bit dodgy now, but here is a lego pic i did a few yrs ago
BillyElNino
I think you need to enclose it with a wall, floor maybe a window and a snowman outside... (that sounds almost christmassy and I feel a bit sick)
marked001
haha..that is EXACTLY what my initial plan was... i even have the wall/window/roof built.. didnt get to the snowman... but wasnt feeling it.. just wanted it really simple.. that's funny though.. here's the latest iteration.. still not loving the gap in between the 'block' and the scene.. but... still open to more suggestions though the top of the studs had a bevel..added one at the base..not sure whats up with the corners of the 'block'..why they're so sharp..might have to remodel that..
