hockley91
Is there a way to render out to layers like they do in SFX houses. I wanted to render out separate passes (shadow, caustic, reflection, etc.) Any ideas?
Diego Rosales
Yes you can, not as a PS layer but as an "extra" render. In the render dialog there are different element outputs, but doesn't support caustics, GI or fancy effects. There is a separate plugin from cebas that does all that. Daniel
The cebas plug-in Diego mentioned is psd-manager (Lets you create PSD files with all the layers and channels you might need). http://www.cebas.com/products/products.asp?UD=10-7888-33-788&PID=38 Watch a video demonstration here: http://www.cebas.com/products/feature.asp?UD=10-7888-33-788&PID=38&FID=380 Daniel
DeadPencil
I'm using Cebas PSD manager and I have to say that it's essential for architectural renders! It makes tweaking the renders very easy. Great for photo montages also since PSD manager uses the G-Buffer information of 3ds max to create masks(selections) and layers from specific objects and materials of the 3D scene. It's certainly worth the money and it has saved me many hours of work. [ July 24, 2003, 08:36 AM: Message edited by: DeadPencil ]
