EddieLeon
I have a silly question. Are there any books about our industry? I'm curious to know if there is anything out there that describes the history, the players, and leading work examples. I'm thinking that such a book could be a great resource for architects and developers and might be a nice coffee-table item. Maybe this already exists. Any thoughts? shaneis
That's not a silly question, I haven't seen a book that is 100% Arch Viz, but the closest would have to be the "Elemental" series from Ballistic Publishing... http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/elemental2/
rmccoy
I don't know of any off hand but I think it would be a great idea if there was such a book. It would be great if it covered a variety of programs both 3d based and print based (layouts, title blocks, putting design packages together)
cadmunkey
I'd also be interested in a book like this. The elemental series have too many non arch-viz models in them to make it worth my while purchasing them although they look superb. Some of the great arch-viz artists need to get their heads together and produce one!
phillip@esperient
if you use 3DS Max, I'd recommend: Achieving Invisibility: The Art of Architectural Visualization and Rendering by Adam Crespi. and Realistic Architectural Visualization with 3ds Max and mental ray by R.Cusson & J. Cardoso though these are more how to books than industry review, or trend/state of the art design books. Oh, there is an old one (mid 1990's) Hyper-Realistic Computer Generated Architectural Renderings by Oscar Riera Ojeda Lucas H. Guerra - which you might be able to get second hand. Its a good book - though state of the art has moved on since it was written hope this helps, Phillip Edited November 10, 2008 by phillip@esperient
