AFK_Matrix
Hi, The company I have just started working for would like to send me on a Maya course to get me upto scratch as I have been using 3Ds Max to date. Now I have been playing with the Learning Edition of Maya and have the basics I think so I need to start learning more of the complex things in Maya. Now I was wondering if anyone could recommend a company that will do this, and is nearish to London?
Trevor Tizard
I would contact escape studios http://www.escapestudios.com/en_GB/school.html Were you not working for a housing developer?
AFK_Matrix
Hi Trevor, Thanks for that will tell the boss and see what he wants to do about contacting them etc. I was working for a housing company back in August 2007 but I just wasn't being pushed or learning anything new so decided to take a break in the US for 3 months and then look for a better job. Well after getting a temp job in a college I finally found another job. This job though is completely different to the housing company though as I will be an instructor for a company who do fight simulators and use Maya for part of the visuals. So I need to learn how they go about creating the models etc so that I can do training courses for the Airlines and the Military.

Dave Buckley
isn't escape studios more of an educational facility in terms of 'longer courses' where as some ATC's offer 3 day crash courses etc
odouble
Or you can pay $99 for almost 100 hrs of trainiing from 3d buzz Maya Fundamentals (fundamental only in its title). 3 great projects on the DVD to get you fluent in Maya. http://www.3dbuzz.com/xcart/home.php?cat=9 Great courses. Note that I have no affiliation with 3d Buzz, just a recommendation
shaneis
Kelly, sorry this is a bit late, but a question from a new member on this forum reminded me of the following online resource... it's all architecture-specific Maya info and has a fair amount of intermediate stuff there. Hope it helps. http://toi.bk.tudelft.nl/toi-pedia/index.php?title=Maya
theNoodler
Also, don't be afraid to PM me or post. I've been using Maya since beta, I'm a tester for it, so I know it well. My background has been modelling and rigging, I'm no render or shader guru, but other than that I know it deeply. So yeah, don't be afraid to ask. XKP
I recommend the training offered by digital tutors (online) Most of what I learned is from their training courses
