Mad Matt
Ok well I've been trying to learn how to use radiosity for exterior renderings and things just aren't behaving. Here's a screenshot of my settings Here's a shot of the scene with my old light setup and no radiosity. And Here's what I'm ending up with using daylight and radiosity. So what's going wrong. Lester_Masterson
I was having the same problem. So I consulted the expert. Ted Boardman. His suggestion was to increase the Physical Scale 20 to 30x. So a setting of 500 should be about 10000-15000. Try this and see if it helps. Ken Walton
Will that correct the color "screw-up" on the grass and such? That's exactly what my renderings look like and I just can't get the grass right...
Jason Matthews
This is just to get you started. Change these settings. Click render direct illumination under rendering parmeters. I think your brightness setting is a little too high, so play with the setting. Change the physical scale under Logarythmic exposure contol to 1500, or whatever you luminosity is for your sun. Oh, are you using the sunlight system? You can also change the skylight to a lighter blue. Next, Turn you refine interations on about 10 to start off with, and adjust up accordingly. Usually about 25 works fine. Turn filtering to about 25, maybe higher. Just toy around with these settings. See where that gets you. You might have to put radiosity override on some of your materials. For instance, the green that is reflected on the side of the building. We know that grass does not reflect. Hope it helps
