CarlBat
greetings, I'm here with this inside. 3DMax 2009 Photografic exposure control FG + GI + AO Comments please, of all kinds.
AJLynn
Maybe some fill light. Off-camera in the hallway behind the opening on the left, behind the camera on the right...
Dave Buckley
getting there, those chairs seem quite large though. it feels a bit empty and could do with a little more vibrance and contrast other than that the settings are ok
Justin Hunt
Agree with the other comments although your settings could be tweaked a bit may I suggest FG Diffuse Bouce 0 - When using Photons any bounces over 0 are disregarded at rendertime Photons Max no of Photons per sample 1500 Optimize for FG - ON Trace Depth 30 Average GI Photons per Light 50000 Turn Gamma ON Vignetting 2 (add more in Photoshop if desired) What light setup do you have? mrSun and Sky with a portal light in the window? mattclinch
Max no of Photons per sample 1500 i wouldn't have this any higher than 150-200 Trace Depth 30 no point in having this at 30 if you dont also put your max. reflections to 30 aswell. Justin Hunt
Not necessarily, the rule of thumb is the Max trace depth should be the sum of reflections and refractions. There will be a big difference in the image between 5 and 30, 30 being much brighter and light getting into the deep recesses, although more contrast will be needed in exposure control. 150 - 200 might be fine, and 2500 too high, I fined around 800 - 1500 really adds detail and subtlety to the light, also cleans up a lot of artifacts. jhv

Thanks This is standard practice, when the ambient light you put more furniture. ok, Justin greetings and thank you for responding, with the rebounds are right, already down to 0, this space is now a thing Sentra does not have a lot of light because the photons that do not fall, so the values are so high The scene has a daylight mr sun & mr sky and Skylight portal in the window with a value of 0.10. now I need to know how can illuminate the scene but because the entries are very few lights. Thanks for all and greattings!!!!!!!
Justin Hunt
Why did you set the value to 0.1? leave it a 1 Make sure the suns, Photon target is set to be slightly bigger than the window. This will focus the photons into the room. Also means you wont need as many photons. Also check that the portal light is set to emit photons and leave it at automatic. These alone should be enough to light the room. If however you would like additional light then I'd suggest a photometric light in the back room. Also set to emit photons, you may have to play with the energy values to see the effect. Also remeamber to play with the exposure control to brighten up the image. Setting Gamma will also help. jhv Edited November 15, 2008 by Justin Hunt
