innerdream
I have area shadows on all of my lights. The columns seem to have quite a bit of black. Am I doing something wrong? The lights are in the fixtures and a sun coming in from the right.
Horhe
Seems to me that your collumns are reflecting the black areas with no light on the celing
innerdream
I think you're right. I'm going to turn down the saturation on those colors and see if that doesn't help, it looks more like color bleed now that I look again.
Horhe
Still think its reflection of the collumns. Try turning off the reflection and then trying to render a region with the issue.
innerdream
Still think its reflection of the collumns. Try turning off the reflection and then trying to render a region with the issue. The white material of the cols. doesn't have reflections turned on. That render region function is sweet, how'd I live without it... Edited November 15, 2008 by innerdream
innerdream
That didn't work. Now the shadow is more black than red though.
Horhe
Change your shadow opacity to a lower level. Or try a different shadow type. Another thing is upping the ambient light in the scene to try and dim the sucker out a bit.
Horhe
...or get the shadows on a seperate pass and compose later. Ulitmately you can alter this in a post processing package. Best of course to eliminate it at source.
Horhe
What about the hotspot and falloff values of the lights? Perphaps increase the falloff cone so that it includes more space and the collumns.
innerdream
Thanks Jakub. I'll try all of that. It's amazing to me how different each render engine I try behaves so different since the math behind them is similar.
