navinkc Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Hi I am working in 3DS max 2009 with V-ray 1.50 sp2 for rendering. i have problem with my workstation 6 months back office purchased new workstation for rendering purpose DELL with windows xp 64-bit DELL PRECISION T5400 Intel®Xeron® CPU E5420 @ 2.50GHz 2.49GHz,4.00GB of RAM. with NVIDIA 1700 quadro Graphic card (DUAL) when i work with 3DS max I am getting display like this in the image attached.So we changed graphic card recently NVIDIA 4600 Quadro.but i am getting same display and same time for the test render i made with my previous graphic card and new one no change.it is taking test render time of 6 min and 17 sec. for both graphic card. so i checked same test rendering scene to my friend machine with HP HP XW6600 Intel ® Xeon ® CPU E 5430 @ 2.66 GHz 1.97 GHz 2.00GB RAM with NVIDIA quadro 3400/4400 and it is giving an output time of 3min 16 sec. DELL Technician checked and they said new driver is not updating the system so need to reinstall windows. still no improvement next suggestion they said is DELL is not compitable with 3DS MAX. does anyone having any problem like this please help...... BrianKitts Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 you mentioned 3dsmax 2009, but you didn't say you have SP1 installed. The viewcube caused a lot of initial problems in the first release of 2009, do you have all the updates installed for max? These mostly lead to the viewports causing a max crash.... but it seems like along the same lines that it's worth a try. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Macer Posted November 19, 2008 Share Posted November 19, 2008 Make sure that you've installed the latest driver for your new graphics card from the manufacturers website.
