A.Mitov
I've recently begun a new project and ran into serious problem. I have the ACAD drawings and I have imported them in MAX to position them. But every time I activate the snap function and click a point to drag the drawing in that same moment Max crashes. I've tried to save them in older versions of the DWG format (2004, 2000, R14), I've even tried to save and import them in DXF but everytime it happens the same thing - activate snap, click a point to start draging, crash! What could be the problem? I have never came across into this problem before and this is driving me crazy. I can't imagine working without snaps. EDIT: I've managed to solve it after a couple of experiments with exporting the drawing. Don't know what really was the problem but who cares, it works now! danb4026
Most of the time snap crashes occur when you object is too far away from the base origin. (x=0, y=0, z=0) When you bring your files in from CAD, make sure you bring them in @ 0,0. This usually will fix the problem.
