schmoron13
For some reason, 3ds max keeps crashing 1/2 way through rendering an animation (even when I do quick ones -70 stills or so?) when I use brazil. The moment I switch my rendering to the standard max one, it works fine....what gives? is there a way to do realistic glass in max without brazil? mzagorski
Have you tried asking people on the Brazil forum about this - I would suggest to direct your questions there. If youve got Brazil them Im sure you will know the url. Sure - realistic glass IS possible in Max w/out 3rd party renderers - check out the portfolio od www.ams.be (scanline rendering!) nisus
Hi schmoron, Ask the fish from splutterguys In the meantime: Crashing halfway an animation sounds like you try to export to an *.avi or alike. Export to an image sequence (*.tga) so you have at least those frames that can be calculated. Next restart the animation from the point you crashed and go on. Check out if your machine can't render only one frame or a bunch. Study what changes in the animation are made on that particular frame. (Got enough ram?) rgds nisus ps: realistic? you must be kidding mike... héhé...
schmoron13
thanks guys for the quick responses...I posted on the public forum, to no avail, so I stopped using the renderer...maybe it's just the fact that it's the public beta and 1.0 can handle it, but I didn't have enough time to deal with it....
