seismograph
If chaos group would be more talented on promoting (like cebas) we would hear now something like this: The first fully multithreaded free renderplugin for max with the fastest GI engine for max/viz and extreme fast raytracing is ready to replace the scanline renderer, radiosity and skytracer! ..well, they are talented to write fast renderer and so it sounds like this: "The long awaited free version of VRay from Chaos Group is a fact! It includes: - Reflections and refractions - Indirect illumination (GI) - Depth of field - QMC sampler - Various Anti-aliasing routines And Chaos Group gives this for FREE! Come, register and get your free VRay copy! http://www.vrayrender.com/free " you have to register first, but then you can dL the free version and the demo with watermark but with all settings and options from the retail too. this testimage was finished in only 3 minutes! and this takes 8:22 with softshadows and raytraced glass [ October 15, 2002, 06:32 AM: Message edited by: seismograph ]

Hazdaz
So what are the real limitations to this free version? I see that line of text at the bottom of the image - is that the only watermark?? I am not very familiar with the regular version of Vray, but I know it is quite popular - what features are missing from the free version over the retail version?? AJLynn
...and this is, of course, the place for tech support when the Chaosgroup web site has a glitch...
Billabong
Honestly Nic. I think that was a little uncalled for. Maxom the reason you aren't able to download it, is for two reasons, One you have to register and two their site is having problems right now. -B
