Once again the kind folks at DePaul University and the College of Computing and Digital Media (CDM) have donated their space and time to host our event. This year our good friends at Avatech Solutions are providing the food and beverages for the event, and Autodesk is providing the snacks and SWAG. This free event will run from 10AM to 5PM, with a free lunch at Noon and snacks throughout. Door prizes will be given out throughout the event. We once again have a terrific lineup of speakers this year! Here is the schedule of events: 10:00AM: Registration, Coffee, Juice, Snacks, and Demo Videos10:25AM: Welcome!10:30: Tony Lewellen, Character Technical Director at Midway Games, demonstrating some of his work and discussing his experiences on the job.11:00AM: Rick O'Meara, Lead Animator at Midway Games, with a "MotionBuilder demo on Control Rigging Techniques for Film and Games."11:30 Joe Linhoff, Visiting Assistant Professor at DePaul CDM, with "Exporting 3D Models into Microsoft XNA". This applies to Maya and 3ds Max.12:30 Lunch, Demo Videos.1:00 PM Matt Taylor, Art Director at Midway Games, discussing managing multiple game projects and the software tools they use to keep things working.1:30PM: Jennifer O'Connor with 4D Artists/College of Lake County, presenting "mental ray in 3ds Max" - this also applies to Maya. We'll have a quick overview of Fundamentals, and then get in-depth on Lighting, Materials, and Indirect Illumination, and also discuss the new Importons and Irradiance Particles! There will be lots of tips and techniques for all.3:00PM: Ryan O'Connor, Modeler/Animator with 4D Artists, with an "Introduction to Mudbox" including Modeling, Painting, and working with 3ds Max.3:30PM:Tom Munz, owner of Pulse Studios, with a demonstration of the "UVW Unwrap modifier in 3ds Max."4:15PM Kirk Nash, owner of CDI-Animate with "Curve Editor / Track View training for 3ds Max".5PM: Event officially ends, time for networking!RSVP to jenni at max3ds.com is required, and please let us know if you will be attending the free lunch.
