Cesar R
Is there a rule for setting the orbital scale when usung the daylight system?? my other question, does modeling with solids in ACAD and then by using the liking tool bringing them into VIz for rendering with GI have any difference as far as solution (realizim) compared to if it was all modeling in VIZ/max? nisus
ow dear cesar... orbit scale is not important with a directional light!!

Dave Buchhofer
The main thing that helps produce realism in radiosity is either A: Knowledge of the processes that make up radiosity, or B: Artistic talent and most popularly, some combination of both.. How you model doesn't make much difference, Either way CAN work. On the other hand, Either way can be a disaster.
Cesar R
very true. The reason I asked about the model is bc for some reason It seemed the the viz models were able to procuce better meshing than the acad models. But it guess the realizims like always has to do with lighting and texturing. thank you guys
MegaPixel
I just recently purchased MAX 5 and have been experimenting with the Radiosity Rendering but not so much of the Light Tracing GI System yet. I have noticed that sloppy modeling will absolutly destroy your Meshing Results. I'm an ametuer modeler in MAX and still don't know how to remove extra inside faces after attaching multiple objects together or making sure that absolutly every vertex meets an adjacent vertex for perfect stitching. At any rate, I think it would be safe to add to the topic starters point, that the quality of a model could have an unrealistic impact on the Radiosity Meshing results. Then again, I'm just pure newb and maybe its just all in the settings. I'd have to cook alot of food to get that particular recipe just right.
