Peter M. Gruhn
Color me lazy, but... I'd like a selection history list. I'll work and then think after a few minutes "oh, I'd like to select that stuff I had selected back then". Just bop over to the list and click on the fourth item ago. Voila. "But," you argue, "there's already named selection sets." Yes, there are. And if I were cool or psychic or had four arms or something I'd name all my selections or know as I worked which ones were important. But I'm stupid and experimental. Further, a chronological list might be easier to search than a named selection list. "Wait, did I call that 'feelers base 04' or 'radial alternate 2 in'?" How about "it was three seletions ago and this thumbnail looks just like it"? Especially if I were to preemptively name sets "gee, I guess that's 'internal tweak set 14'" There would, of course, be a button to turn a selection into a named selection. There should be hot keys to combine selections per the standard set in Photoshop's layers palette. I don't know if a new combination should create a new entry. If so, it should probably wait until the combination is done being built. It would know this by the user performing an action on the selection. add subtract add add subtract move. Ah hah! She moved them, save the selection. Reusing a selection should probably not create a new entry unless the user really wants that to happen. I'd keep this list open on the second monitor all the time.
