jameson101
The models you have used are really low poly. The materials are plain and bland. It seems you have used the same material for the couchs, carpet and desk chairs, try changing the material between them. There is no bump map that I can see for any materials. It would be a good idea to change the plant in some way and not just duplicate and move it. Try rotating, scaling and deforming to have some differances between the plants. The sun or exterior light has really made some parts of the scene overbright. Another idea is to change the backround image, I dont know how tall this builidng is but if you can try have some landscape in the distance. Also if you is on the ground floor put some trees by the windows and have the shadows come through the window. The mapping on the small circular wall is wrong, I dont know Maya's UVW maping but a cylindical UVWmapping would correct the problem. Just one last thing, the desk right by the camera is very plain and it is one of the main focuses in the image, try adding wires from the keyboard, mouse, screen. Add books or files etc... Good luck
