andreg
Oh my god we can now record HD film with the SLR cameras? Damn this means I have to buy one... my rebel XTi doesn't do this! Anyone interested in buying my camera?
Crazy Homeless Guy
Same clip, slightly higher resolution, but still only 1/4 of the full resolution. I find the quality to be very impressive. It is important to remember that this was shot by a professional, which adds to the quality. Damn impressive though. A game changer. http://www.usa.canon.com/dlc/controller?act=GetArticleAct&articleID=2326 .

WOOOOW. Does anyone know the release date? i only saw some post that reported the swizz expected it 29Nov-1Dec.
AJLynn
You can also apparently do this with a Nikon D90. The Canon's full frame, the Nikon is DX format, so there are at least 2 price points to choose from. I'm really impressed by the low light shots. vizfx
Nikon D90 it is a bit behind from this point of view but in the same time has a lower price. I think the next Nikon D3x will be a real competitor.
Craig Ramsay
Wowee! Time to upgrade from my 400D I think!

The quality of the sensors between the two cameras aside, the 5D is doing this at 1080p. The Nikon is still limited to 720p. I imagine that is just a reflection of the read write speed on the internal hardware of the cameras.
