dzcreate
hello all... new to the forum and looking forward to learning lots. i'm an industrial design student, and i hope its ok that i ask rendering and modeling questions even though it looks like everyone is primarily architects. below is a random example of something similar i am modeling / rendering. i only know rhino, but does anyone here know if i should use 3dsmax for something thats not so straight and rigid such as this? i was told that 3dsmax would be a more appropriate modeler, but i've no idea. thanks in advance! manta
I think you'll find any of the major software packages can handle this type of modeling and texturing, if you're not going to be doing any animation, then Max may be overkill, have a look at Modo... Crazy Homeless Guy
You will probably be fine in Max, especially since it is schools copy, and that means it costs you no money. Well none except tuition. But keep in mind... Most Expensive does not necessarily equal the best, nor does the most popular.
