sdds
hi all, I do all my rendering on one computer with backburner rendering frames in the background while I work.. Is there a way to set the rendering to 'below normal priority' without having to do it manually (ctrl alt del) with every new frame? cheers
sdds
honestly I have never had a problem with max locking up while running a background render set to below normal.. If I am rendering animation frames, well I have no choice but to work when rendering. only run a dual core with 1 gig ram lol.. average render times for me are: interiors 2-3hr exteriors 1-2hr I always render to TGA. BrianKitts
1GB as mentioned is pretty low to be multi-tasking, but that being said I know CrazyHomelessGuy has mentioned using Process Tamer to control application process load which may help your problem. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/30826-max-d2009-processor-hog-rendering.html#post212280 http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/Process-Tamer.shtml
