Tommy L
Hello all, Here's a little puzzler, would be grateful if any one can give me a quick fix to this. See the speckling on the left side of the bed. Using the latest vray, max 2008. Irradiance map as primary and Brute force as secondary. Any help much appreciated, Tom. WAcky
what are your noise and clr thresh values? It might be worth posting your material settings too.

fadi3d
hey tom i think u should increase ur AA to 2 and 4.and ur Irr set are too high they will give u extreme render time. try 60 /40 and ur choice of brute force for sec bounce is odd i think u should go for LC. i hope this helps Cheers

However, the soft furnishings (carpet and chairs) use displacement, so Im finding that doing a higher res rendering is providing a better solution (rendertime) for the AA. Also, the Irr Map is precalculated, so the render time is kind of irrelevent on that one. I shall try LC for second bounce. I still cant get the speckles to go away though..... Stephen Thomas
I don't normally use adaptive subdivision, but I notice your colour threshold is set at 0.1. With Adaptive DMC this would normally be set to 0.01 or less to get rid of noise. Worth a try.

Stephen Thomas
Probably just your max rate holding it back then, bump it up a notch or two.
