innerdream
Is there a real clean way to do seams on columns? Thanks.
Tommy L
what kind of seams do you mean?
innerdream
what kind of seams do you mean? As if the columns were metal panels, so reveals both horizontal and vertical.
Magnus_Alexander
This solution feels too obvious, but have you tried using cylindrical UVW mapping with a tiled material? You should have a good amount of flexibility with that method.

The seams in the ceiling are actual reveals in the geometry...I don't want to model the columns like that though. So, maybe that's my only choice? Magnus_Alexander
You could use align your mapping with the reveals on the ceiling, and use a displacement map for the seams, rather than modeling the geometry.

AJLynn
Wouldn't it be simpler to model it? I bet it would only take a few minutes.
innerdream
Wouldn't it be simpler to model it? I bet it would only take a few minutes. I only know how to model with Sketchup. Is it doable you think? I'm not much of a modeler. Edit: I just made one in SU. Edited December 6, 2008 by innerdream
