sloped wall reveals

Hello all

Does anybody know how to create slopped reveals on a wall.

I have tried it by placing a work plane on the face of the wall, and used a void form- void sweep combination, but when I press finish sweep, this message appears

This Mass has no solid geometry for its Void Forms to cut. They must be deleted, or solid geometry added and cut.

Please, let me know if you can help

Thank you

Francisco

I would do as follows, If I understand correctlly what you want.

Draw splines, tracing drawing of wall, edit spline, attach all of them into one, extrude.

Convert to editable poly.

vertex select, move vertices adjusting slope to choice.

for the reveals, inset polygons, adjusting local, and either extrude in or out, depending on what you want. If bevel is needed, same procedure.

Hope it helps.

Cheers

Hi Martin:

I got it. I used an in place family for the wall, and used the void sweep for the reveal. Being new at this, my main problem was that I'm just starting to work with the massing, and was trying to add the sweeps to my in place family (wall), after finishing the massing (of the wall), and without first editing the mass.

Anyway, thank you for your help

I enclosed a jpeg of my practice wall

HI

I'm a noob but I've just been playing around with stuff like this and I've found that if you select the wall you want to modify and pick "edit profile" on the options bar then you can sketch any sort of opening shapes you want - hit finish sketch and you get the results.

Any use or have I missed the point totally?

Tim
