RyanSpaulding
How are all of your company's doing during the financial stress? Mine is ripping the marketing budget like crazy...which is the exact thing you dont want to do. Still, they refuse the advice. Have your companies ramped up marketing or slashed it? alias_marks
Our firm has invested in a 4-5 person marketing team over the past year or so and is pushing extremely hard on the marketing efforts. We're also pulling people from around the office who don't have much else to do to help out with marketing efforts, proposals, etc. I don't know the exact numbers, but I'm pretty sure our marketing budget has increased over 500% in the past 8 months. To me this is a golden opportunity as 3d artists to take advantage of this shift that many businesses are focusing on. Now more than ever, it's important for firms and the like to distinguish themselves above others - to get the jobs that are still out there. We are an integral part of that movement. However, as Eddie over at Spine3d has said (among others) our clients will be looking for better value than in past years. I would definitely agree. Devin Johnston
My firm has increased its marketing efforts; in fact they want me to put together a high end animation for both mail and web. It's hard to get jobs if you can't show them what your capable of and visualization is now one of the must have tools that everyone expects.
