Lightning
Hi there, When importing or linking .DWG flies to VIZ the objects retain their original AutoCAD layer color, a thing that helps me a lot in the way that I work. In Max, on the other hand, when importing .DWG files the objects color is created either randomly or by the chosen color in the object color palette. Is there a way to make Max import AutoCAD colors like VIZ? Thanks, Lightning
renato
In the importer dialog, under "Derive objects by" check "color"
Lightning
Thanks, it worked. I always avoided using the "Color" option because I'm used to using the "File link" option in VIZ, and there all objects of the same color are combined into one entity when linking the DWG file by "Color", so I always linked the files using "Entity". I also found another way in MAX. If in the object color palette the AutoCAD palette is selected I can import the DWG file using "Entity" mode and the objects retain their AutoCAD color. But I have another problem related to that: Using both MAX and VIZ I installed the patch that migrates VIZ attributed into MAX. In this case using the "File link" in max, I can't in any way make the object retain their AutoCAD color, is there something that can be done? Or is it just a compatibility problem between the File link plug-in and MAX? Thanks Lightning
renato
I'm not sure but I guess that is because Viz is intended to work along with adt4 and autocad, and Max does not. maybe an incompatibility issue
