Render 32 bit Max on 64bit?

I recently upgrade, with allot of help form the excellent folks here on this forum, to 64 bit.

 

My question, can I render a file I created in 32 bit Max on the new 64 bit.

 

I have tried this and the file opens just fine in 64 bit. When I render it just happens instantaneously and show a black frame buffer, like nothings there. Should I be able to open a project I created in 32 bit Max with 64 bit and render it ok?

Yes, it should render fine.

thanks to you all for replying! I have the error message in the Vray log (guess I should have mentioned vray in my post above) "Could not obtain a license".

 

So I need to get the Vray license configured correctly. Not sure what's involved in that but I believe it can be worked out.

 

Is it possible I need to download 64 bit dongle driver?

no, the dongle works with all versions, just download the appropriate vray version for 64bit, and configure the license, and everything should be fine.

OK I got it working. Some of the firewall stuff was blocking the license server.
