DVD widescreen not playing as widescreen on TV

hi

 

i rendered the animation on DV PAL SIZE and widescreen format with 1.46 widescreen ration and output it to uncompressed AVI format.After that i used VSO convertx to DVD to make a dvd out of it

Now i am facing 2 problems when i am playing it on TV

first the ouput is not widescreen even if i used 16:9 ratio while converting to DVD and also in AE my composition was 16 : 9. but playing it on TV makes it square fit.how can i make it fit my widescreen TV. right now i am seeing black borders on both sides of movie

secondly my uncompressed avi from AE is very neat without flicker and texture crawl animation but after converting it to DVD and playing on TV its quality deteriorates and i can see lot of shimmering also.

 

PS i am playing it on a sony wega 29" TV
