3Dbeginner
Hi, I just got 3ds Max 2008 Architectural Visualization Beginner to Intermediate Book. Since I am a bignner, I need some help and appreciate your feedback. On page 8-5, "In the Diffuse Color Channel of any material, load a Bitmap using image Tile01.jpg in the xxx folder" Could someone tell me where is the "Diffuse Color Channel"? (1) " 4. in the Deffuse Color channel of any material, load a Bitmap using image Tile01.jpg in the xxx folder.' Could you please let me know howcan I find 'deffuse color channel' box? and then, how to load this map? (2) I was trying to use material editor to add Tile01 image to the Material Dialouge box, however, even the tile image was shown on the Material Dialougue box, but four corners of small triangles disapeared. Also, both "put materials to scene" and "Assign Materials to Selection' icones becoming grey-nonfunctional. So, I could NOT apply this image to the scene. Could you please tell me why and give me a step-by-step instruction as to how to load images to the library and then apply to the object? (3) Does 3ds Max has the same materials library as CAD? I am not a CAD user and have no CAD software. How can I render CAD drawings in 3ds Max without CAD sfotware? Thanks. David
