Frosty
I start every week with Metal Monday... a musical theme day. Sabbath, Zepplin, Motorhead, AC/DC, Maiden, Priest. Its a fine way to jump start work. As of today I'm not sure I can continue this fine tradition. Last night i witnessed a travesty. I saw an ad on TV for an upcoming Celine Dion concert. Try as I might to quickly change the channel or throw a shoe and smash my TV, I saw Celine Dion throw the horns. I threw up a little bit in my mouth and tried to compose myself, but its now official. Celine Dion has defiled the metal. I now await her Black Sabbath tribute album. Maybe she'll do Zepplin instead! "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhaaaaaa! I come from the land of ice and snow with the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.....Hammer of the Gods!"
neko
that is indeed troubling, but not unexpected behaviour for her. i hear celine is hooking up with gwar for a US tour in the spring.

shaneis
Hahaha!!! What was she singing on the ad? She's done AC/DC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" - that's easily enough to start a quick projectile vomit, was that what you saw? It was voted the worst cover of all time! !!!Warning - Listening to this may scar you for life!!! BBC article - http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7468837.stm The video - http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=FONt47Z0KZg Truly a sad day for Australian/ Canadian relations. Guest STU_P
Just wait till she goes on tour with Motley Crue, she'll be running for the hills after someone suggests sniffing coke out of certain body orifices. Mind you she has the face of a goat maybe she was just embracing her roots!
Frosty
Thanks Shane, another Monday destroyed with that video! Truly a sad day for Australian/ Canadian relations. And to be fair, we kicked her out of Canada and disowned her along with Bryan Adams, Avril Lawhatever, and Tom Green. She is a terrible reflection on the Canadian Music talent pool. try The Tragically Hip, Wintersleep, The Sadies, or Sam Roberts out for something that really rocks. Oh, and Airborne is my new favourite band! Rockinest tunes to come outta Oz since Back in Black!

Peter M. Gruhn
If all it takes is a retired easy listening one hit wonder Vegas act to make you throw up, I think maybe you are focusing on the wrong signal of the death of metal. We are rough tough no holds barred black leather and pointy chromed plastic bits WE ARE METAL!!! "oooo that unpleasant person person is bothering me, ooo ooo." Sheesh. Frosty
Keen on Ashley MacIsaac, myself. I'm not sure that he's still making music. He kinda went through some rough times. Check out Great Big Sea for some other great east coast music.
Ky Lane
It gets worse. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=zHtuGMHWAf0 I think we may need to ask the Canadian government for an official apology.
