Oh I see...sort of. I think I know what you mean though. Well I did adjust the cropping a little bit, so I hope it helps. I decided to go with some saplings in the foreground because a) I didn't have the time to make a good high res tree with displacement & all that and b) I like the way they look & think the lower leaves on the left help fill up the solid face of the end of the building. So I think this is just about it. I might try to put a few low plantings in the parking island and around the building tomorrow, and then call it quits...as long as my client says thats ok.

Did you wind up compositing the grass, or rendering it.

It's a combo. The base is displacement grass, and then I added some photo grass on top of it. I'm still not a fan of the results I get with displacement. I'd rather use scattered proxies but I ran into trouble with that. One of these days this will all be easy.

Ok, I think I've got my final here. It's almost what I imagined when I first started, so overall I'm pretty happy with the result. Thanks everyone for your input throughout the process. Final res. was 4000 wide, so this is about 1/3 res. Jpeg compression kind of muddles it a bit too.

Hey Tim,

Very nice work as usual. The only thing I might change is toning down the difference in value of the foreground tree/spring on the left from the lit grass. Other than the entrance of the building, it seems to the have the most contrast in your image. It makes my eye compete between the two areas. The foreground sapling on the right is dead on. Either way it is a great image.

BTW. Great stash.
