i've to buy a new laptop to work with autoCAD, 3ds max, photoshop..... and i am thinking in these two choices, i will appreciate a recommendation from you, thanks in advance!!

I don't think you're going to notice a huge difference. I'd go with #2 unless #1 is lighter or better looking or something.

I would suggest you get the fastest cpu with your budget...you can always upgrade the ram or harddisk in later time.

i just bought a M4400 quad core got a killer deal from dell they gave me like 2500 in upgrades for free because they think i am going to buy new servers for my business next year. get the video card upgrade if you buy it i think its like 499 for the upgrade but this machine is super fast and can handle anything i throw at it.
