Motherboard options

Recommended Posts

I'm a student in the process of building a 'do it all' quad core computer. The main reason for getting it is to speed up render times, but to have a usable computer to do everything else associated with typical school work, photoshop, editing, modeling, etc.

Anyway, I have most of the parts spec'd, minus the motherboard (the one I had suggested is on backorder now).

I found the "Asus P5K" recommended on these forums somewhere.

Also, the "Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3L" was recommended by a friend of mine.

I also found the "Asus P5Q SE/R", which I think the only main difference is it allows for 16 GB of ram.

The CPU will be the Q6600 and the video card an NX8800GTS.

I just wanted to get opinions from people that have experience doing what I need to do.

Thanks!
