thurifer
I would like C&C on this. Beyond that: What is up with the squiggly floor in the foreground? I have used 2 different bitmaps for the wood and tried an offset, yet it keeps showing up in the same place. TIA
sutcac
Nice render all-in-all. The TV, especially the screen, isn't that convincing. Maybe try an image there that emits a little light, or add a touch of reflectivity that a blank screen would typically have. The guitar looks a little phony, maybe work on that model and/or the materials on that. What is going on at the base/perimeter of the coffee table? Is that part of the table? Not sure about that wood, or what software you are using, but maybe two surfaces/mat's fighting for the same space, or a bump map in there somewhere? Just some suggestions. k240
I like the image, but i think the texturing around the base of the chimney and the bookshelf looks a little stretched, is it supposed to be the same material as the chimney breast? thurifer
You are right it is stretched, it happened when I did a turbo smooth and I haven't been able to figure out a way to fix it. Do I need to go to UV mapping?
thurifer
Thanks, will do. 3dsmax9 vray. Sorry about the base of the coffee table. somehow it got sunk into the floor.
k240
I suppose yes, you could use UVW map modifier (I bet there are loads of different ways of doing this. But i'm just an amatuer!). If you can get it to match the upper part I think it will look better
chuck
I think it could use a little more contrast, I like to add an unsharp mask in Photoshop, 30%, 30px or so, 0 threshold levels. Besides what others have mentioned, the railing could use more detail and the windows look empty. There are a few well modeled railings on Google warehouse if you're using Sketchup in your workflow. Based on the perspective of the image, the horizon line should be lower than the intersecting lines... Chuck
sutcac
Good call on the perspective. That's often a tricky one to get right but I think people sense it, even if they don't quite know what exactly is wrong.
